Other passport holders can easily obtain 30 or 60-day tourist visas online before travel through authorized UAE operators.

Dubai Travel Tips & Rules

Dubai is extremely cosmopolitan and welcoming, but respecting local laws ensures your holiday is smooth and stress-free.

1. Dress Code Guidelines

Swimwear, bikinis, and shorts are completely normal at hotel pools, waterparks, and public beaches. In shopping malls, upscale dining venues, and city streets, modest casual wear (covering shoulders and knees) is recommended and polite. Mosques require loose clothing covering arms, legs, and hair (for women).

2. Alcohol & Nightlife

Alcohol is widely and legally served across Dubai in licensed hotel bars, beach clubs, lounges, and licensed restaurants. The legal drinking age is 21. Drinking in public streets, outside licensed premises, or disorderly conduct is strictly prohibited.

3. Ramadan Etiquette

Visiting during the holy month of Ramadan is a culturally enriching experience with spectacular evening Iftar buffets. Dining during daylight hours is permitted inside hotels, mall food courts, and screened restaurant areas. Live loud music is tempered during fasting hours.

4. SIM Cards & Connectivity

Arriving tourists at Dubai International Airport receive a free complimentary 1GB tourist SIM card from telecom providers (du or e&) at passport control. High-speed 5G tourist eSIMs and data packs can easily be topped up via mobile app. Free Wi-Fi is ubiquitous across hotels and malls.

Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers to the most common questions our travellers ask before booking.

Yes. Dubai consistently ranks among the top three safest cities in the world. Street crime is virtually non-existent, public transit operates under constant supervision, and women-only carriages and pink taxi cabs with female drivers are readily available.

Yes. Following modernized UAE legal reforms enacted in recent years, unmarried couples are legally permitted to share hotel rooms and private accommodations across Dubai and the UAE without questions or marriage certificates.

Dubai is nearly cashless. Contactless cards, Apple Pay, and Google Pay are accepted virtually everywhere — from luxury boutiques down to supermarkets, street taxis, and museum ticket desks. Carrying a modest amount of cash (100–200 AED) is only useful for minor tips and traditional abra Creek crossings.

For high-season travel (November to March), we advise reserving tour packages, desert safaris, and Burj Khalifa sunset time slots 3 to 6 weeks in advance to guarantee your preferred dates and avoid sold-out slots.
